Student Interpreter - 2026-2027 School Year (Leave Replacement)

• Assigned to the Elementary School

Job Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Graduation from high school or two years of experience as a teacher's aide in a public or private school system and;

a)   Student Interpreter Trainee - Possess expressive and receptive manual English skills as demonstrated by the ability to sign at a simple sentence level.

b)   Student Interpreter I - Possess expressive and receptive manual English skills as demonstrated by the ability to sign at the conversational and sentence level.

c)   Student Interpreter II - Satisfactory completion  of at least two years of college level course work in the area of deafness, interpreting, education or human services and six months of full time experience as an interpreter for the deaf using oral and manual forms of communication.

d)   Student Interpreter III - Graduation from an accredited Interpreter Training Program and six months full time experience as an interpreter for the deaf using oral and manual forms of communication.
